Call for Submissions 2016/2017 Exhibition Program

The AHVA Gallery (gallery.ahva.ubc.ca) in the Audain Art Centre, UBC is a 2000 square foot purpose-built, contemporary exhibition space serving the Visual Art, Art History and Curatorial Studies programs of the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory (AHVA) at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Providing a site for student and faculty artistic and curatorial collaborations from within the department, the university and with artists and art students outside the university community; the Gallery allows for interactions on issues relating to art, culture and creative research.

The AHVA Gallery encourages Exhibition Proposals throughout the year from UBC Faculty, Students and other interested parties within and outside the University Community.

The available exhibition slots are from mid-October to mid-November 2016 and late November 2016 to late January 2017. The gallery will be closed from mid-December to early January during the holiday break.

The AHVA Gallery operates on a very limited budget intended to support basic install, takedown and limited public hours during exhibition periods. The AHVA Gallery does not pay shipping costs, artist fees or have full time support staff.

Please review the required information at AHVA Gallery – Exhibition Proposal Guidelines and submit your completed form to the AHVA Gallery Committee electronically at ahva.gallery@ubc.ca by April 30, 2016.

All proposals will be reviewed by the AHVA Gallery Committee and will receive thoughtful consideration. Applicants should be notified of their proposals standing by the end of May.
